bringing hope to the hopeless
.Thanet Iceberg currently oversees three main projects. Each of these projects addresses a particular area of poverty. Below is a brief outline on how each service address the immediate needs of our clients, from the provision of meals and companionship through to household goods and furniture. Once the initial needs are met we are then able to take time to help our clients address the long term causes of their situation
The Kitchen CT9
This is our community cafe based in the heart of Cliftonville at 3 Cliff Terrace. The cafe has become very popular with those looking for quality food and drink in a great atmosphere.
With a ‘Pay as you feel’ policy customers can pay for their own meal, pay a bit extra to help cover someone else’s bill, or, if they are struggling, take advantage of “one in the till” and have their bill covered by someone else in the community.

Through The Loft we are able to help households and individuals who are living in accommodation without the everyday basics that many of us take for granted.
We supply, free of charge, second hand furniture such as beds, chairs, tables, cutlery and crockery. We also have white goods that we are able to give on to new homes.
We collect and deliver anywhere in Thanet, free of charge. If you have something to give on to others or if you are in need of some household items please get in touch. Find out more via the button below.
Haven’t we all found ourselves in a place where we simply need some advice and support to help us move forward?
All across Thanet there are some amazing organisations working to help people deal with many of the causes of poverty. Indeed, it can almost seem too many. Where do you turn when you need help?
We liaise with many of these organisations to help people with form filling, appointment making, chaperoning, phone calls, etc.
